A103 - Orient

"Orient" is a hand-turned spinning top by Armin Kolb made of the precious woods Pockholz (lignum vitae) and Amaranth. Due to its shape and its long handle it belongs to the more extravagant spinning tops. To play it you need a special technique. It must be "rubbed" between the palms of the hands to develop the necessary momentum. This requires a little skill from the player. Due to its long, filigree handle, it is important to give the spinning top enough space so that the handle cannot strike against any objects.
