B920 - Merlin’s Hat

Merlin’s Hat is a multi-part spinning top and a dexterity game that is not quite as easy as it looks.
It is a so-called "inverted-tip" top; instead of a standard point, it features a small indentation designed to be placed onto a separate point.
The small pointed cone—which gives the top its name—serves as one such point.
You place the cone on the table and try to spin the top on it.
This is not as simple as it sounds; achieving the right speed is essential to keep the cone from toppling over.
The two included knitting needles (or small bamboo skewers) offer additional ways to play.
You can spin the top on a point and then try to transfer it to another "point holder."
You can also try to place the top onto the "hat" or pick it up using the knitting needle.
It helps to have the cone positioned near the edge of the table.
All of this requires some practice and, crucially, the right spinning speed.
