Products description
Virtually all tops with a high center of gravity and a more or less symmetrical design are considered wobbly tops.
Wobly tops are generally not easy to spin.
The difficulty lies in spinning the top fast enough.
The two tips of the wobbly top are shaped differently.
One end is pointed, the other rounded.
When spun on the pointed end, the top is difficult to right itself; the tip tends to trace a circular path.
This creates a very attractive visual effect. The real skill lies in spinning the top so flat that the body just barely avoids touching the surface. The lack of friction at the pointed end prevents it from righting itself.
The situation is different with the blunt tip. If the top spins fast enough, it will right itself in no time. Experienced spinners can also turn the spinning wobbly top by nudging the ends of the axles.
Wobly tops are therefore challenging tops and by no means children's toys.
