The corrugated cardboard spinning top
is a finger gyroscope whose gyroscope body consists of a rolled strip of corrugated cardboard. The individual windings are not glued together, so the clamped rubber ring can be moved on the axis of rotation. This will change the shape of the top as shown. For a good run, make sure that the rubber ring is perpendicular to the axis. Do not move beyond the straight line (see illustration), otherwise the gyroscope will break down into its individual parts.
